What happens when you mix food, drinks & shopping? You get a day full of fun at the DC Thrift Crawl!
On April 6 DC Now Events partnered with the first ever DC Thrift Crawl to bring thrifters from all across the DMV to explore the trendiest thrift and consignment stores around the city.
The DC Thrift Crawl is the brainchild of Anna Sanders, who said she was a passionate thrifter looking for a thrift community in DC but hadn’t found many stores.
She thought “what if there was an event that highlights thrift stores and allows people to go from store to store to shop?”
With that idea, she used social media to source local thrift vendors and invited stores from all over the city to participate in the event.
The day began at Po Boy Jim where thrifters ate and shopped local vendors. Here shoppers picked up unique pieces such as eco-friendly candles, t-shirts, cosmetics, accessories, and more!

The thrift crawl brought the thrift community in the city together. “This has been a great event for us. So many people pass this store not realizing it’s a thrift store. It has been a great exposure.” said Canna Conrad the Manager at Crossroads Store.
Ultimately, the DC Thrift Crawl was a great success. Vendors and thrift stores gained new customers and thrifters learned of new shops and snagged great deals.
