Dine Out In DC-8 Winter Igloos To Check Out!

New restrictions have hit the DC, Metropolitan area amid a rise in covid19 cases. In the last few days the Governors from Virginia, Ralph Northam, and Larry Hogan, Maryland, had imposed an updated order for their state. Following the two states, DC Mayor, Muriel Bowser imposed an updated order as well.

Small business restaurant owners have been preparing for the cold winter that is coming. In preparation, Mayor Bowser has allocated funding to aid restaurants, bars, and dine-in establishments for their guest to eat outdoors around DC. Apart from the aid, some venues are being creative by incorporating safe and heated outdoor Igloos for their guest.

What are Igloos?

Are snow house or snow hut. They’re a type of shelter built of snow, typically built when the snow is suitable. However, during the pandemic, restaurants have pivoted unique approaches to accommodate their guest to utilize Igloo as a means of eating inside of these bubbles.

People visiting or traveling to the DC, Metropolitan area can enjoy these unique and wonderful Igloos as they search for a safe and social distancing eatery. We are sharing a list of restaurants that will be offering Igloos for your dine-in experience.

1) Igloos at Del Mar-791 Wharf St., SW, DC

Located at the District Wharf, Del Mar features authentic seafood fare and flavors from the coasts of Spain, the robust menu includes tapas, raw bar, charcoal-grilled fish, seafood stews, and a variety of rice dishes

2) Winter lodges at Bresca -1906 14th St., NW,DC

Bresca is a Contemporary French restaurant and cocktail bar located in the bustling 14th street neighborhood. 

3) Yurt Village at Fiola 601 Pennsylvania Ave,NW,DC

High-end restaurant serving rustic Italian food & creative cocktails in a modern, upscale space.

4) Viking Huts at Hook Hall -3400 Georgia Ave, NW,DC

Situated in the heart of Washington, DC, Hook Hall is a traditional tavern and event space. It is a place you go to enjoy a cold beer and catch up with friends, or to find the latest epic pop-up experience. It’s a space designed to transform and transition throughout the day.

6) Greenhouses at the Inn at Perry Cabin308 Watkins Ln., St. Michaels, Maryland.

Inn at Perry Cabin is located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, this colonial mansion features a full-service spa, various dining options, and panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay. The Offshore Sailing School is on-site.

7) Igloos at Water Gate Hotel-2650 Virginia Ave NW, DC

Stay warm all winter long in the Water Gate cozy Winter Igloos. These heated igloos are located on the patio of the Next Whisky Bar and can accommodate up to six guests each. Reservations are required on Weekends. Walk-ins are accepted first come, first serve.
